A major mother and daughter from Considerably Hadham abseiled down the Church Langley water tower in memory many much-loved father and grandfather to whom died of cancer.
Emily Cs and daughter Ellie, 16, changed their fears of heights and restricted spaces to raise more than £2, 1000 for Isabel Hospice.
The Far east Herts charity cared for John Jack, who passed away in July not too long ago after being diagnosed with mesothelioma , a type of lung cancer – mere four months earlier.
Emily stated: "For me personally, this was a challenge. Not ever the obvious – the abseiling decrease – but the getting up to the best to do the abseil.
"The theorised feeling claustrophobic, having to go up high spiral ladders in a confined memory space to get to the top, terrified me.
"The way I see it is I was scared for a few hours before, but i thought this was nothing compared to how petrified dad felt after being diagnosed.
"My family and I never would have thought that all 18 months ago we would ever will have to rely on Isabel Hospice. It was simply a charity shop in town that we would guide past and occasionally drop a bedroom of clothes into or read about a place in the local paper.
"It's a handy that we really don't know how special this particular charity is until we are anxious and needing help when we are experiencing such a horrendous time with a dearly loved one. "

These folks took up the challenge as part of Harlow Tye Rotary Club's annual abseil.
Just to name a few taking the plunge was Richard Swan. The affected individual dressed as Spider-Man in a stop to promote Isabel Hospice's Starlight Stroll inside the street and you} September.
The annual 10k guide will have a theme this year, with members being encouraged to dress being a favourite fictional superhero.
It will take put on Saturday, September 19, starting during the 8. 30pm, at Chauncy Student, Ware.
