ATLANTA — After his / her eighth-inning double Friday night, John McCutchen stood on second top rated and turned his gaze on the visiting dugout, fixed before a fan who had been heckling the Helps make pirates star at Turner Field.
McCutchen cupped his ear with his correct hand suggesting he now detected silence and then made a yapping gesture with the hand toward your heckler.
McCutchen had an ally ınside the stands: actor and Pittsburgh local Michael Keaton was in attendance. Keaton taunted the heckler by recommending to the Pirates' advantage on the center-field scoreboard.
It's the second time in any amount of years McCutchen has dealt with wonderful aggressive, consistent heckler in Lawrenceville. Last September in Atlanta, when you are done McCutchen homered, he slapped his / her hands together and saluted against hecklers seated behind home food.
"People sometimes think we are other animals in a zoo that don't say something, and they can hit on the doors and don't think we are going to do nor say anything, " McCutchen had said. "They get a little surprised when we finally actually do respond. A lot of times it's securities you're talking to a 3-year-old. Which they just want some attention. "
McCutchen went back-and-forth with the heckler during the game. McCutchen said your talk was "PG-13" in the natural wolrd.
"Embarrassed him a little bit, " McCutchen said.
McCutchen made a silence offering near the end of the movement. He gave his batting safety gloves to the heckler after his earlier at-bat.
There was another reason Keaton got near the visiting dugout Friday: The man wanted an autograph.
Noted Batman galaxy note 3 case enthusiast A. J. Burnett entered into a ball for Keaton, the actual actor posted on his Instagram part.
Burnett inscribed the ball investment decision message, "To Batman Samsung note 3 case, from Batman. Thanks for paving the road ahead. "
Clint Hurdle was curious about your interaction between Burnett and Keaton.
"I saw A. J. jabbering who have somebody, and I asked him individuals who he was talking to, " Hurdle had said. "(Burnett said), 'Batman. ' The looked up, and I said, 'Oh that's why, you are. ' "
After smacking in the second spot Friday initially this season, Starling Marte was back on that spot Saturday.
Gregory Polanco again hit leadoff, and McCutchen batted in his customary third area. Hurdle also had his outfielders stacked 1-2-3 in the order more than once last season when the three were being hitting well.
It is an order the intrigues Hurdle. He bunches your team's best speed and some of most dynamic offensive performers.
"Maybe we can get deeper roots for now, " said Hurdle of Marte hitting second. "I like the way your lineup played (Friday) night. :-( Drop Josh (Harrison) down to 5 various, you have another guy who can sprint.
"I thought we're best dished up to leave it alone. I think the (lineup) played out very well in just the series in Tampa (last season) on turf — three rapidly guys that were all banging your ball around and stealing socle. It was fun to watch. "
If Marte sticks near the top of the order, that a departure from Hurdle's preseason vorstellung when he saw Marte as more for this middle-of-the order run producer.
During Hurdle acknowledged the Pirates might possibly not have a prototypical leadoff or washing hitter, he likes the convenience of the lineup.
"We do have a fabulous lineup that can be adjusted because we have got different guys who can do some various things, " Hurdle said. "The glass pitcher almost has to hit a reset to zero button each time a guy comes to the dish. "
